Hmmm, wonder if that applies if inside. My guess is the NEC people never considered an inside antenna. Also, NEC is not required everywhere.

Plant the large Screwdriver antenna mount, mast and coil in the middle where you have the most height available in the attic. You can use a cheap CB mirror mount screwed to the floor joists and overlap the chicken wire for grounding.

I then mount the X-50 brackets / mounting sleeve directly to the horizontal pieces with a few screws and install the antenna body to the mount. Connect the coax and done!

You can use a nicer, larger magnet mount in the center of the attic, on a steel plate. You can use large sheet aluminum foil to create a larger ground plane underneath it and do halfway okay.
