Add up the letters in the word, times 2 times the number of letters in the word (unless all letters in the 'word' are the same, in which case just add up the letters times 2).

A couple of weeks ago it was a total train wreck but then I received a message that the changes weren't meant to be implemented and I assumed it would go back to the original format. I was wrong.

2024年2月13日 · Recently, Word Wipe loads with the red banner "floating" across the top line so I can't see both the top and bottom lines of a game board at the same time. This really slows me down, having to drag the board up and down so I can see all the letters at the same time. I don't know why it was changed, but hope it changes back soon!
