Jamey Noel's attorneys are taking steps to try and pay his court-ordered restitution after the former sheriff was sentenced to more than a decade in prison earlier this week. On Tuesday, Noel's attorneys filed a motion in one of his civil cases with the Indiana Attorney General saying they need the court to unfreeze his assets to pay back more than $3 million.

Before accepting his plea agreement, the judge allowed victims of the scheming former sheriff to address the now-convicted felon.

Former Clark County Sheriff and longtime Republican operative Jamey Noel could spend upwards of a decade in prison after a judge accepted his guilty pleas to more than a dozen felony charges in court Monday.

On Monday, Jamey Noel was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to pay more than $3 million in restitution.

Judge Larry Medlock said he wrestled with the decision to accept the terms. The final three years will be served on probation.

Noel, Clark County's sheriff from 2015-22, had been charged of corrupt business influence, theft, tax evasion and official misconduct
