Snow is expected to pick up around the morning rush hour after continuing to fall overnight as the entire Denver metro remains under a winter weather advisory until noon.
It will be a mild Thursday in the Denver metro with highs hitting in the low 50s. In the mountains, clouds will quickly increase with scattered snow showers developing Thursday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, on Christmas Eve 1982, “one of the worst blizzards of all time” happened in Denver, with 24 to 34 inches of snow falling across the metro area.
