Cummins says the next generation of its Turbo Diesel engines will continue powering Ram pickups for at least five more years. The Columbus based engine manufacturer along with Stellantis officials Tuesday announced the new 6.

Powering the most basic Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups is still the 6.4-liter gasoline-burning Hemi V8, which drops 5 hp, now delivering 405 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque, pushed through an eight-speed ZF HD 8HP75 transmission.

Ram has finally revealed its 2025 HD and Chassis Cab lineups, incorporating many of the flashy upgrades that have already hit the standard Ram 1500 pickup. But there’s more to this overhaul than a fancier cabin and a new grille.
