Yum Brands announced Thursday it has removed fresh onions from select locations in the wake of the E. coli outbreak.

The produce company that supplied onions to McDonald’s recently removed products from the market because of potential E. coli contamination.

Fast-food chains are taking precautionary measures at some of their restaurants as the CDC continues to investigate the source of a deadly E. Coli outbreak. The McDonald’s E. Coli outbreak that roiled the company’s stock earlier this week is having a knock-on effect on its fast-food competitors when it comes to taking precautionary measures.
