Following on the heels of Amazon’s recent announcement about expanding its same-day pharmacy delivery, Walmart has now made a similar announcement. The

Pharmacy Delivery by Walmart is currently offered in Arkansas, Missouri, New York, Nevada, South Carolina and Wisconsin. By the end of January 2025, the service is expected to be available in 49 states. Walmart says the service provides families, seniors and those with chronic conditions a more convenient way to get their medications.

Walmart will begin delivering prescriptions across the U.S. early next year, as the retailing giant strives to keep pace with rival Amazon in competing for health care dollars. Walmart's new service includes new prescriptions and refills,
